Operating in more than 60 countries, Uber makes it easy to get a ride with just a few quick taps via the Uber app, but with so many riders, there have to be enough drivers to transport them.

If you want to drive for Uber but don't have a car to use, the company offers a rental program that can get you a car and on the road in no time.

Here's what you need to know about how to get started.

How to get a car with Uber through a rental partner

1. Visit the Uber website and follow the instructions to sign up as an Uber driver. It can be a lengthy process, as you'll need to go through a background check.

2. Once approved as a driver, you'll need to decide what your needs are for a vehicle. For instance, do you only need it for a few hours here and there, or are you looking to rent a car on a weekly basis? Both options are available. You can see which options are available in your area by clicking here.

3. Choose one of Uber's partner companies to find out more information about renting a car with them. Uber works with Fair, Getaround, Hertz, Avis, and Zipcar, among other rental companies.

4. Once you've rented a vehicle through one of Uber's partners, you'll be given further information about how you can begin driving for Uber. Most of the companies allow you to cancel your car rental at any time, though you should check with the individual partner for their terms.
